ABC Beckenham is a purpose-built centre licensed for 50 preschool children and 24 nursery children, with very generous play spaces both indoors and outdoors. We provide all meals that have the healthy heart tick, and we are open from 7am to 6pm.
At ABC Beckenham we are fortunate to have a great team who are very passionate about their jobs as teachers; they truly care about the children at our centre, making it their ‘home away from home’.
We have a great programme that is very flexible to each child; where each child’s interests are supported and encouraged. All activities are planned to suit each child’s individual needs and interests, and these are used throughout our programming. Our routines are flexible allowing the children to become completely engrossed in their play. We have rolling kai (meal) times that give the children the opportunity to eat when they are ready or wait until they are ready if they wish to continue with their play and learning.
All our staff are involved in the programme and we offer activities for babies right through to preparing your children for school. Our preschool has children aged 2-5 where our staff are proactive about the older children role-modelling and helping out the younger children.
Our Under 2’s programme implements a primary care system where each child has a main caregiver to which they develop a special bond. Within the primary care system your child’s teacher will become an expert on your child and their routine, and will carry out all care duties for your child – such as nappy changing and feeding. We are always looking for ways in which to improve the care each child gets and primary care is only one of these ways.
