We have worm farms, organic fertilizer and a vegetable patch at the centre – muddy wee hands just love it! It’s part of a learning focus for our children where they develop numeracy skills by counting the plants they’ve planted in their vege patch; science understanding is deepened by learning how plants use sunshine and the nutrients from the soil to grow; the importance of healthy eating is highlighted by growing and eating their own veges; and colour recognition is developed by planting flowers.
