Welcome to ABC Rangiora North

Welcome to ABC Rangiora North!

Infant and Toddler Room

Almost three years ago we implemented the Primary Care system (where one teacher does the majority of caring for your child) in the Infant and Toddler room. It is now very well established and helps to create the calm and inviting environment for children and their families / whānau. Additionally, it is in the best interest for the children as it helps them make a secure attachment to their primary caregiver so that they can be comfortable and confident in the environment and learn to their full potential.

Our Infant and Toddler room caters for up to 12 children and has a lovely large outdoor area that is secure from the older children.

As teachers we have fantastic relationships with parents and whānau who both contribute to the children’s learning and development.

Preschool Room

Our preschool is a fun and exciting environment to be a part of. All our families appreciate the dedication and effort that we exhibit on a daily basis with all the children in our care.

We offer daily activities for the many differing ages working towards extending all the children’s learning and encouraging confident and competent young learners.   We provide extension groups based on the children’s interests, giving them the opportunity to work in small groups with children of similar abilities. This time is very valuable and allows opportunities for children to develop skills from self-help and physical skills to literacy and numeracy. These regular group times are enjoyed by children and appreciated by both parents and local schools.

Our preschool caters for up to 32 children which gives us a very happy and fun environment. We have the advantage of having a very large playground and edible gardens for all children to enjoy.

On a daily basis we complete experience sheets showing what learning is taking place and these are on display for all family / whānau.  We also regularly complete the children’s profile books which are on display for children and their families to read and contribute to as well as being able to take these home to share with other friends and family.

Our aim is to build strong relationships with our families and help the children to reach their full potential at a rate that is suitable to each child.

We welcome parents / whānau to visit when ever they wish, allowing them to witness their children in play and also become involved with their learning journey. Parents regularly join us and demonstrate what they do for a living. This allows us as teachers to introduce the children to the wider world and community around them as well as building stronger relationship between families and preschool.
