The team at ABC St Marks pride ourselves on creating a quality learning environment for all children which contains high value and high quality learning experiences. We have a teaching team of seven in recognition of our commitment to quality six are qualified Early Childhood teachers and one is a teacher in training towards her Diploma of Early Childhood Education.

Within our centre we provide for the children and their families many and various learning opportunities and experiences.
In our Haumia room which caters for under 2 ½ year olds we have a RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) focus. This means that the infants and toddlers in the Under 2’s room are in a respectful environment where it is safe, secure, stimulating and consistent. As well as our teachers caring for and nurturing your child, we also provide for them many opportunities to explore, discover and be involved in opportunities for them to initiate their own learning experiences.
For our very active and outgoing Pikopiko room (2 ½ – 5year olds), we provide them with an environment where they have every opportunity to actively explore making sense of their world and everything else in it, we believe children often develop the knowledge that trying things out, exploration and curiosity are valued ways of learning (Ministry of Education, 1996)
We also provide a comprehensive ‘Transition to School’ programme for our 4 to 5 year olds in order to prepare them for the big move to school.
We LOVE going on excursions out of the centre to various places around the community and city (we have already been to MOTAT and Butterfly Creek) as well as inviting people from around the community to come and visit us at the centre (such as Police Officers, Old McDonalds Farm and Santa).
