At ABC Waltham we are fortunate that all of our teachers are qualified and extremely passionate about the growth and development of children, and we have an amazing ratio (amount of staff to children). We have an exceedingly brilliant programme where activities and experiences are tailored to individual children and used throughout assessment.

We aim to ensure all children are catered to and all interests of children are supported, encouraged and extended. Our staff philosophy is to give children the encouragement to learn through trial and error. This allows them to learn that perfection is not the aim; that pride and accomplishment are more important. Our centre routines are very flexible, allowing children to be truly engrossed in their play.
Kai / meal times are referred to as “rolling”. This means that children have the opportunity to choose for themselves when they wish to eat (so they can finish play without interruptions). We have a brilliant preschool programme which all staff are involved in. It aims to teach children truthfully about school and learning important aspects they will need when they start. Each child that leaves for school should know each letter of the alphabet; including how to write it, sound it out, how to spell and write their names, have scissor skills and persistence (able to sit and finish tasks for increasing periods of time). We are a very culturally diverse centre and celebrate each and every culture with the children; we are very family orientated and work alongside families to ensure each and every child is receiving the best possible care.
