Our two Albany centres have recently been combined under one Centre Manager with one centre for under 3s, and one centre for children aged 3 years and up. The two centres are right across the road from each other which makes them ideal (and very handy) for your young ones transitioning from a toddler to a pre-school environment.
ABC Albany Tahi was previously a house before been converted into a centre in 1999. The centre caters for 16 children under two years old and 19 children over two years old. On turning three years of age children are prepared for transition to ABC Albany Rua across the road.
We provide a family orientated atmosphere with a ‘home away from home’ feel in an open, spacious and very well resourced learning environment. Children’s learning is encouraged through play and a fun-filled stimulating environment is provided for children to grow and develop a healthy sense of self.
Building partnerships with parents has been a passionate goal of ours. We create community spirit by holding parent teacher evenings and big events like Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day (for which we received a great turnout). Our Christmas Party had an astounding turnout; every child had a family member and extended whānau come to support, and some even bought their families who were visiting from overseas to attend.
At our Rua centre for children aged 3 years and up, we have a passionate team of fully qualified teachers who also all hold their first aid certificates. We have a wonderful, large grassed outdoor area where children are able to play games and run, as well as lots of well established trees and gardens.
We offer both a full time and part time options to families. The hours in our Miro (full-time) Room are 7:00am – 5:45pm. The hours in our Rimu (part-time) Room are 8:30am – 3:30pm.
We have a very dedicated team of qualified teachers who are committed to providing the best possible educational and care experiences for children. Through an abundance of hands on learning and teacher support, children are encouraged to develop their individual independence and self management skills in a loving and caring environment.
