Our Centre Manager
I was born in Sydney but grew up in Christchurch. I have five children, nine grandchildren and currently live in Central Otago near Alexandra. I have worked in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) industry for 21 years.
I chose ECE as it is the first point of contact with children and families. I believe that children’s learning in ECE centres should be seen as primary education, not schools, because by the time children start school they have already established sound values and beliefs about themselves and the society they live in. Academic learning doesn’t truly occur until they are comfortable with who they are and how they fit into the world. Therefore positive early learning and educational experiences are critical both to individuals and society in general.
I believe that education is an ongoing process from babies to old age, and hope that I never stop learning.
